Third Eye Chakra

So this is going to be about how I worked to strengthen and build up my Third Eye Chakra. This Chakra is located just above the eyebrows in the middle and is associated with the colour Indigo. The Sanskrit name for this Chakra is Ajna which means "to perceive" or "to know. The image for the Third Eye Chakra is a lotus that has 2 petals.

This Chakra is incredibly well-known, even if not quite in the sense of being an energy centre. This is where our intuition, our second sight is believed to reside within us. It's the home of clairvoyance and precognition, as well as other psychic abilities.

When this Chakra is out of balance, the psychic realm holds too much influence over us and we become too ungrounded. This lack of grounding leads to disorganisation, disorientation and/or appearing "spacey" (not quite in this realm). There's also a chance of having a lack of energy with this Chakra and this can lead to being very fixed in our thinking, usually known as being narrow-minded. We can easily be uncomfortable with any challenges that would allow us to think or feel something beyond our normal.

However, when the Third Eye Chakra is balanced, we receive extra information through our psychic abilities, and we can combine it with our own wisdom to make decisions that are no longer based on fear or ego. Our minds become useful again and open us up to the power of visualisation so that we can have a positive impact on our surroundings. This also allows us to improve the quality of our lives as well as those around us.

The associations with this Chakra are: Essential Oils - camphor, sweet pea, heliotrope; Plant - almond blossom; Metal - silver; Planet - the Moon; Zodiac - Sagittarius and Pisces; Animal - hawk; Crystals - sapphire, lapis lazuli and tanzanite; Colour - indigo.

When it comes to working on my own Third Eye Chakra, I do like to ask those closest to me for advice based on their life experiences and I didn't realise that this is a wise choice because it shows that I recognise I may not have the right wisdom so I seek the advice of those who do know (or can point me in the right direction to find it).

I've also had to spend time in the last few years doing some deep shadow work and this has meant that I've come to understand certain events in my past but I've been able to learn from them at the same time. I've learned the wisdom of learning from the past basically. Wisdom resides in the Third Eye Chakra, or this is where it should flow from.

With wisdom flowing from the Third Eye Chakra, so too does the knowledge that I can recognise the things and people that will work with me for my highest good. However this is something that I've struggled to learn but I do now feel comfortable with removing myself from situations and walking away from people who don't lift me up. I used to allow others to drain me because I wanted to please others and I didn't know what a healthy boundary and respect was.

I have never struggled with the concept of learning as I truly enjoy being a student. I don't think I'll ever lose this as I'm always buying books to learn from, signing up for interactive workshops and/or virtual conferences, or adding specific audiobooks to a particular library. I will happily admit to spending hours and hours researching and diving deep into a particular topic but I will also gladly admit that I can get distracted by other topics along the way which can very easily take me several hours to realise.

When it comes to my intuition, I do like to exercise it as often as possible and I've learned the hard way to trust when I have a gut feeling about something or someone. There have been many times where I am watching a reality talent show on TV and I "predict" correctly who will leave and/or win. (When there are many of these shows on in the space of a week, it still freaks me out a bit that I know ahead of time what the result is but I trust and share this knowledge with a close friend who is supportive.)

Also, when I do readings (personal or collective), I prefer to set aside a guidebook if the tarot/oracle deck has one so that I can tap into the message of the cards with my intuition only. But I do know that there is more that I can do to exercise my intuition as I have previously practised bibliomancy (using a book for divination) and that would usually also freak me out a bit because of how accurate it was.

So all that to say my Third Eye Chakra is relatively strong and balanced, but it could be stronger. All I have to do is find activities that will only add to its strength over time. Without effort and action, I cannot grow within myself.

I hope this has been inspiring and thought-provoking so if you've been thinking about your own Chakras and would like help with understanding where you may be blocked, my diary and inbox are open so feel free to book in with me.

Peace and love to all!!!!
