So, here we are in 2023 and what a year 2022 was!! So following on from last year, I attended a workshop to do a reading for 2023. Last year was reviewed but the main focus was on 2023. It was just as amazing as the previous Prophecy workshop, with 24 cards for the entire 12 months and another 6 reviewing 2022 and giving a general overview of 2023. Here, I'll be focusing on the general overview of 2023 and reviewing 2022 with quarterly updates throughout 2023 on the month-by-month cards.

To start, I picked a card that represented me at the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023. At first, I thought the Hierophant was an appropriate card but I wanted to make sure I had the right card so I kept looking. When I saw the Priestess, I knew this was my card for this present moment because I had completed the Priestess Path course and I was starting to step into my own power, stepping out from the shadows and into the light.
I feel like I started to realise my worth and maybe even my life purpose. I learned a lot about myself in 2022 as it was filled with a lot of Shadow Work so I came to know myself far better than I ever have. I also had realisations about events in my past that I think I have started to heal from.
This was a really powerful year for me and I came to understand myself, my abilities and skills which gave me a sense of confidence that I am unused to.

The next card was all about the gifts I brought from 2022 and I didn't consciously choose this card in the same way as the previous card. I shuffled and The Magician appeared for me.
I feel like this card is saying that I furthered my knowledge about how I practice my Craft, as well as gained necessary knowledge about my own self.
Part of this card is lit up in some way, showing the bright red and details of the background but there's still a lot of darkness that is being highlighted. I'm taking this to mean that I learned a lot about my Craft but this card also references the Shadow Work that was a major theme of 2022. I have come to understand that life isn't all light, glitter and unicorns because there is a natural balance of light and dark so if I want to have balance within me, I have to accept both the light and the shadows within me as well as within the various other gifts I've learned about.

The next card I'm going to cover is the King of Cups and I pulled this card for the lessons I learned in 2022.
I feel like this card is all about my emotions and ties into the gifts I learned about. I came to understand more about my emotions in 2022 than I ever have before.
Possibly because of the Shadow Work theme that 2022 had for me, I feel like I have come to a greater understanding of some of the triggers of my emotions and how I can more easily deal with emotional situations that would usually render me unable to deal with my usual day-to-day life.
I had a lot of emotional revelations in 2022 and I feel like they have allowed me to find a greater inner flow within myself, as well as starting to master my emotions or at least have some semblance of "control" over them. I have noticed that I no longer respond emotionally in the same ways that I used to.

The next card I will mention here is The World, which I pulled regarding the obstacles that are present for me as I step from 2022 into 2023.
At first, I wasn't sure what this card might be highlighting as obstacles but then I wondered whether I have an issue sometimes with the number of possibilities that are open to me at any moment in time. When confronted with so many options, especially regarding what I can learn about next, I feel like I have to take on the world (for want of a better phrase). I feel like I have to sign up for everything that is offered to me and then I end up burning out because I'm trying to do too much all at once.
I also feel like this card highlighted the fact that I am sometimes scared to leave the safety of "home" knowledge behind. So I have to figure out which way it is that I want to go in before I then plan the next part of my journey and move towards that knowledge.

The next card I'm going to mention is the Six of Cups, which I pulled in relation to the resources that are present for me as I step into 2023 from 2022.
I feel like this card is saying that I have community and companionship as I step into this new year. This card is absolutely right on two fronts because I am part of a coven that was formed after the end of the Priestess Path course I did, but also because I have made new connections with other like-minded individuals who have been nothing but welcoming and full of love towards me.
I'm really looking forward to what 2023 has in store for me now that I have a greater level of emotional support in my life as well as balance. While I may have some emotions that I still need to deal with rather than keep them in a place that others can't reach, I still have plenty to offer the world on an emotional level and this may even teach me how to deal with the things I'm keeping away.

The final card I'm going to write about is the Ace of Coins, which was pulled in regards to the general theme of 2023.
With this card, I feel like 2023 is going to be the start of an abundant cycle. This may be the year in which I start to grow ideas and projects that can then mature into an entity that will then provide stability.
This is the year where I should be able to plant the seeds of ideas and projects that can start to grow in the future.
This card feels very positive and full of possibility which is interesting when my obstacle card is The World. I feel like this card is encouraging me to explore the possibilities that I will be presented with and then decide which one(s) I would like to focus my energy on growing and nurturing through to maturity.
I feel like this card may be tempering The World and encouraging me to start small before I consider trying to do more.
So that's just the start of my Prophecy 2023 series and I look forward to sharing how this year shapes up to be for me. I'm intrigued and excited to learn and experience more as I progress along my path.
I hope this inspires you to consider what 2023 might have to offer you and what 2022 held for you.
Peace and love to all!!!
