New Moon in Libra 2021

So last week was the New Moon in Libra and I'd never thought about this before but the New Moons coincide with each astrological season - we're in Libra season now so the New Moon is in that sign.

Libra is all about balance, as shown by its symbol of the scales. But the new moon in Libra invites us to go within ourselves and listen, to practice introspection so that we can start this astrological season with clarity and focus. This time of introspection is an opportunity to nurture your inner world of hopes and dreams so that you can get back on track within anything that got lost during the summer-time.

It's good to use this Libran New Moon energy to find clarity on our autumnal intentions by making a list of a few things that you want to achieve this season and before the calendar year finishes. This New Moon promotes self-care and self-love which is not as selfish as some people can make it out to be - it's all about listening to your heart and soul and taking some time (daily, preferably) to take care of yourself. Self-care can also be about setting and keeping healthier boundaries because it's okay to say no to people and/or things that you don't want to spend your energies on.

As always, we started by clearing our energies however we felt called to and I used my little silver bell because I believe that its clear sound is incredibly cleansing and clears not just my energy but the energy of the room I'm in as well.

Next came the grounding meditation, which was used to check to see if any part felt out of balance. We sent energetic threads (or roots) down into the ground to connect with the pulse energy of the Earth and draw energy up to mix with our own energies, and during this my Third Eye space felt like it was tingling. We also sent tendrils up and out through the crown of our heads to connect with the song of the moon and stars and this was part was rather interesting because my Third Eye space felt less tingly after connecting with the sky above.

After this, we connected with our heartspace and I envisioned a pale pink light emanating from that area which was also full of warmth. We placed our hands over our hearts before joining together to create one giant ball of love-light to encompass everyone who attended live, everyone who would watch a replay and everyone who came before us (our ancestors).

In the next part, the directions were called in to aid the Libran New Moon intention. Each one had a very seasonal connection: East with Air bringing the breath of cold decay, a beginning and an ending, with the prophecy of an autumnal breeze; South with the summer serpent fire moving from without to the hearth; West with the soothing, playful and cool water that hints at autumnal rain; North and Earth with the harvest turned soil shedding and transforming what is decaying into nourishment for the coming season, and inviting release; Centre with Spirit that spirals in and out, out and in, as connecting synapses that acts like a thread that stitches us together and is timeless.

While staying in the same state of mind, we sat in a gentle quiet to contemplate what was brewing and growing within. I feel that I'm getting better with my personal organisational skills, as well as keeping my home in a much cleaner and tidier state. I also feel that my sleeping pattern is on the road to improving as well.

After this, we were asked to shuffle our deck and to pull a card. I happened to get two cards that jumped out together. Once we had our cards, we spent a few minutes free writing about it. I used a new deck called the Triple Goddess Tarot and the two cards I pulled were the Ace of Cups and the Queen of Wands.

The Ace of Cups spoke to me about overflowing with healing water that can be used to overcome the hurts of the summer. The white water lilies spoke of inner wisdom that would soon be discovered. The water from a waterfall entering the cup and spilling out into the large pool felt like it wasn't just about personal healing but about the wider community needing healing.

The Queen of Wands was saying that I shouldn't be afraid to learn from others and to share that wisdom with more people using my own intuition to inspire others to shine their own light out into the world. It also spoke to me about letting the flames of passion inspire.

After making notes on the cards, we spent a couple of minutes underlining the messages that really stood out to us individually, but I couldn't do this as one of my cats chose to sit on my notebook for this. I felt like this was a sign to me that the cards weren't just meant for me - it was a message that the cards were for the entire group.

Then we went around the group, speaking what each card said to those who pulled them to see what stood out to others. It was interesting as overcoming the hurts of summer resonated with others as well as the community needing healing. Someone even said that the overflowing cup felt like it was encouraging me to share my gifts and inspire others - this was before I spoke about the Queen of Wands so it was the same message from both cards, which pleasantly surprised me. When it came to the Queen of Wands, the messages that resonated or stood out were sharing, shining our own light out into the world, and letting the flames of passion inspire ourselves and others.

As a task to do in our own time, we were then asked to write a poem based on the cards that we had individually pulled to inspire our own actions until either the Full moon or the next New moon. This task took me a little while to do - I like to write poetry or stories when I am in the right headspace and mood - but here is what I wrote:

Flowing, flowing,

Even overflowing,

Washing and healing

The hurts of summer.

The pool of healing

Feeding everyone.

From the cup

That is spilling over,

The invitation is

To share your

Gifts and wisdom

So that others

Can be inspired.

To let your inner

Wisdom and shine

Your own light

Out into the world.

To set the world

Aflame with a

Fiery inspiring passion.

I hope this does inspire you and your own rituals around the New and Full Moons.

Peace and love to all!!!
