It's time to start thinking about the New Moon in Libra which is also an eclipse!!!! It will occur around 2nd October (depending on your time-zone) so if you are interested in charging some New Moon Eclipse Water for your magickal workings, it's a good idea to set your chosen container out the day before, the day of and the day after to get as much energy as possible.
It's Libra season so, as always, the New Moon is in Libra. (Remember that the New Moon always occurs in the same sign that the Sun occupies while the Full Moon is in the opposite sign.) Libra season is started by the Autumn Equinox, or Mabon. So while any New Moon usually brings the opportunities of new beginnings, change is afoot at the same time.
The New Moon in Libra is all about how you can bring balance into your life, so don't be afraid to look inwards and listen. Just like nature and the nights are closing in, so too is this an opportunity for deep introspection to lead to a season of clarity and focus. Looking inwards can bring a realisation that we need to nurture our own inner worlds of hopes and dreams and get back on track with anything that might have gotten off-track during the summer.
Just as with any other New Moon, this is a great time to set intentions for the next lunar cycle but it's also a good time to set intentions around the season and put into motion anything that you want to achieve or make true before Yule and the start of the new calendar year.
So this New Moon in Libra can be used to get clear on our autumnal intentions and this can be done by making a list of 3-5 things that we want to achieve by the end of the year. Two other themes of this lunar event are self-care and self-love, or more specifically the self-care practice of listening to our hearts and souls; don't be afraid to set aside time each day to do this. Something else this Libran New Moon can be good for is creating healthier relationships and boundaries, ensuring that there is balance in the give-and-take of our energies.
However, because there is eclipse energy, specifically a Solar Eclipse, there is also revelatory energy. Eclipses reveal truths and bring things to our attention so that we can either improve them or stop them in their tracks. From endings come new beginnings, and this is never more true than for eclipses because they signify the end of what was so that the new can start.
To piece all the energies together, this New Moon Eclipse in Libra is all about finding balance between the old and the new, what works and what doesn't, caring for others and caring for ourselves. It's time to look deep within and face the truths that are waiting for us, to take action on what needs to be changed.

Where in our lives is most in need of balance?
Field of Dreams Reversed
With this card being reversed, it shows that we are not putting as much time, energy or effort into our own dreams compared to the dreams of others. It is all well and good to help other people to achieve their dreams and desires but it is not so good if that comes at the expense of our own dreams and desires.
We should never forget our own desires because they, and we, are just as important as the desires of others. We deserve to achieve our desires too but sometimes we get lost and/or caught up in helping others to achieve their dreams to the point that we lose our own sense of self.
What are we not seeing about our situation?
Rock Bottom
With this card, the message is that we can very easily get lost in the negatives, the periods of "bad luck" and an apparent lack of positivity. But this doesn't mean that we are stuck in that place because there are paths around us that will lead us out of this if we can only keep hold of hope. This is what we're not seeing. that hope is there as our constant companion but we cannot be closed off to it. If we wallow at rock bottom, we cut ourselves off from hope. But just because we've hit Rock Bottom, it doesn't mean that our situations can't improve. If anything, they have to improve because there's nothing lower than Rock Bottom.
How will facing this truth open us up?
Ghostlands Reversed
With this card, facing the truth about Rock Bottom will allow us to start to defrost and open up to the warmth that is out there for us to experience.
Ghostlands is similar to the land of Narnia before the White Queen/Witch starts to lose her powers, without hope, without love, without joy and completely barren (apart from evergreen plants and trees). This is what is stopping us from becoming open to hope, love and joy.
We all need and deserve hope, especially when life throws us a curveball laced with concentrated lemon juice. It's the same thing with love and joy, but we have to remember that we truly do deserve all the good things that life could give us.
How can we be loving and nurturing towards ourselves this season?
Wide Open, Into the Unknown
Wide Open comes right on the heels of Ghostlands Reversed, telling us to be open wide to the endless potential life can offer us. Love in its purest form should be unconditional but we've been taught from a young age that everything in life has at least one kind of string/condition attached. So we need to drop the idea that love, care and nurture has conditions for us to be deserving - we are always deserving. Denial is what is stopping us from being Wide Open to the infinite opportunities we can use to love and nurture ourselves.
With Into the Unknown, we have to trust our own bodies, minds, spirits and selves that being loving and nurturing can look different for each of us. What I find loving and nurturing may not work for you but that's okay. If you're not sure how to be loving and nurturing, experiment with different activities, foods etc. Not-knowing and being comfortable with this feeling is a great idea so if you can nurture this within you, the Unknown is not somewhere else and you're more familiar with it.
Trust in yourselves and know that you need to be Wide Open to step Into the Unknown of what love and care is.
Well, this New Moon Eclipse in Libra is going to be a doozy but it's going to be the last Eclipse of 2024 so this will really set us all upfor the next 6-12 months. We can be organised but we need to balance taking care of ourselves, showing ourselves love and nurturing who we are. Being where we think is Rock Bottom means that the only way we can go is up but we still need to have hope that we can eventually have our own real Field of Dreams. The only issue is walking Into the Unknown which can be really scary but the only option we have is to do it because we can't ignore the Unknown.
