During Aquarius season, the Full Moon always occurs in the sign of Leo. This is not just an Aquarius thing, as this happens in every zodiac season. This is a slightly challenging Full Moon for me because it is my opposite sign and the only Leo influence in my natal chart is a particular house or area of life.
All I needed for the ritual hosted by Emily of Wise Woman Witchery for her Diving Deeper membership was a notebook, pen and candle. This was all about working with the Leo energy and bringing it into my life, which was really needed with certain things happening in my life.
This was a meditation ritual and I love these as I always have an interesting and intriguing journey experience whenever I do a guided meditation.
The meditation started in a wintry landscape, where it wasn't truly cold but it was a gentle kind of coolness. The Full Snow Moon was above and illuminating the entire area with a bright silvery light. I was awed by the beauty that surrounded me and the night-time noises from animals and birds. But I wasn't alone here, there was another energy present that was also very quiet. As it moved towards me, the form of a powerful lioness took shape. While meeting one in the real wild would have been scary, this wasn't scary at all. She gave off warmth from her skin and breath.
Her beautiful golden eyes met mine and I was mesmerised by their colour and markings in her iris. I marvelled at her natural beauty before asking if I could touch her, feeling her soft but slightly coarse coat that sat above her solid undulating muscles.
I asked her what her message was for me and received strength and quiet confidence, that she will be with me as this lunar cycle continues. I felt like I needed to be more like her, standing safe in the knowledge that my strengths can be used for my highest good but also the highest good of all those around me.
The lioness then turned and asked me whether I wanted to step inside of her, to embody her strength, to feel her energy, and to discover that all this lives within me too. I accepted her offer and became one with her, feeling a gentle shifting as my human shape changed to her feline one. In doing so, I noticed that she stands sure of where she stands, where she walks, that her body will move as she needs to. Slow and steady when she needs to be, but also fast, purposeful and tenacious when she needs to be.
But by stepping into her lioness form, I became her. I became that lioness and she became me. She was me and letting me know that I can move confidently and surely towards my goals and desires. That I have her personality and character, and I can use this in my conscious life. She was showing me that I am what I need to be, and who I need to be. I don't need to change any part of me to fit someone else's expectations or ideas. I can be confident in my own self and what I can do.
As I stepped back into my human form, I didn't feel like her energy and abilities left me. It was more like she was stepping back into her guide-form. I bowed to her out of respect for all that she has done, is doing and will do, and I did this purely because I felt like it was the right thing to do.
Confidence is something that I've struggled with for years so feeling sure of myself is not something I am familiar with. I never say that I am great at something - I'm just good at it. I balk slightly when anyone compliments me or tries to convince me that I'm something I don't think I am. Confidence is definitely something that I want to work on and build on as I move through this lunar cycle so this entire experience will be bolstering my efforts as I step into my future.
Based on what I learned from the lioness, I created a statement or proclamation of sorts about what I want to claim this lunar cycle. I came up with: I am confident. I am sure of and within myself. I feel like this is something that I can work on and make real within my life. It was at this point that I lit my candle and shortly after doing so, I said my proclamation three time to claim it for myself and to charge the candle with that energy which I can light and reclaim the energy in the future.
Since attending this ritual, I have attended a few other workshops around cultivating confidence, removing self-doubt and living my most authentic life. All of these have left me feeling more in control of my life and how I can move forward with certain projects.
This was so empowering and full of good vibes that I can carry with me as this year progresses through the other various New and Full Moons. I will definitely be relighting the candle I used for this ritual when I need a boost of the energy I discovered in this experience.
I hope this inspires you around how you can work with the energy of Leo and the Full Moon. You may be surprised by what comes up for you.
Peace and love to all!!!
